Here’s a light and delicious green smoothie with delicate flavors that blend well together.
I wanted to use apples because they are a good source of fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants. Studies suggest that apples may protect against osteoporosis and Alzheimer’s disease.
Both kiwifruit and apples are a great source of fiber and the greens help boost the iron.
If you are buying organic kiwi, make sure you leave the skin on because it’s loaded with antioxidants!
I simply wash them, cut the ends off, chop them into fourths and toss them into my blender. I help ripen them faster, you can place them in a brown paper bag until you are ready to use them.

If it is too much for you, store leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.)
Try This Kiwi-Cucumber Green Smoothie With Broccoli!
Don’t get creeped out by this green smoothie recipe because it has cucumber and broccoli in it. Go ahead and give it a try.
The banana and kiwifruit blend wonderfully with crisp, refreshing cucumber and you’ll barely taste the broccoli. It’s all good!
I recommend using frozen broccoli since it is less flavorful than fresh, but almost as nutritious. You can also use sweeter broccolette, which I LOVE in green juices. Broccoli is a great source of vitamin A (as beta-carotene) and vitamin C. It’s also a good source of folate.
Cucumbers are an excellent source of dietary fiber. I didn’t peel them as most of the nutrients are in the skin.
- 1 medium frozen banana, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup frozen broccoli, chopped
- 2 kiwifruit, with peel if organic (peeled if not organic)
- 2 mini cucumbers, or half a large one
- 8 ounces filtered water
